Anyone who tells you ribbons are for little girls is obviously insecure, but for those of us out there who still feel like the magical scraps of magic that can instantly make any ensemble match with the tie of a knot, might I suggest hair ascots, or literal hair ties.
With ties and ascots being make out of literal fabric, they're much heavier, getting rid of the upright and bouncy form of a ribbon bow. The excess of fabric also draws more attention to it, and gives you more room to further accessorize with a brooch or something else.
A mature tie or ascot bow isn't really a bow with two loops. Just make a simple knot, letting the rest of the fabric flop down. It'll look more like droopy rabbit ears than a proper bow.
